2019 is the first year Pride Art isbeingheld in Italy with an exhibition that show cases a group of talented Italian artists, exploring LGBT+ themes. The art exhibition consists of four works which inspire reflection on the value of diversityas an inherentelementof nature. For this exhibition we have collaborated with Tallulah Studio Art, founded by the pop-art consultant Patrizia Madau.

Donatella Izzo

Artwork title: Bloom
Artwork Description:The work is a reflection on sexuality in nature. Society has been accustomed to thinking that all living beings can be divided into males or females. This is generally true for vertebrates, but it is not always true for invertebrates or plants. The flore represents one of the most striking examples of how masculine and feminine can coexist in the same being.

Biography: In a reality forcefully based on appearances and perfection, the artist’s pieces make us participate in a personal perception of identity which is now fragmented and deprived of the sense of belonging to the most ranscendental side of life. Her subjects accompanyusin a dimension of estrangement in which the very idea of imperfection loses its negative meaning to assume high ervaluessaturated with spiritual meanings.

Federica Angelino

Artwork title: Midtown
Artwork description: The artist presents her intimate and cultural research through the “Midtown” shot, a macro image of rigged eyes. The reflection shegives to everyone in their dailys phereis the interaction with the “other and diversity”. The focal relationships that are created with people known and unknown through the camera.

Biography: Federica Angelinois a multidisciplinary artist working across photography, installations and painting. The artist investigates the origin of cultural diversity, analyzes the intimacy that exists between individuals in their diversity and portraits them creating emotional rifts of great scenic effect. In her last exhibitions Federica focused her attention on the relationship between intimacy and couple dynamics, creating site-specific artworks for the place.

Federico Unia

Artwork title: Food chain (Bestialseries)
Artwork description:The artist’spiece is characterized by a transfiguration of the human into a beast. The work is a reflection about the evolution of man compared and metamorphosed with the animal world. Federico Unia explores diversity in the animal world and its extraordinary ability to coexist in nature, simply in harmony with universal balance. According to the artist: «Nature teaches us how to live together without oppressing each other».

Biography: Federico Unia is a urban-Pop talent and his artistic identityis the result of a series of long experiences deriving from pop-art, reinterpretation of the concept of Nouveau Réalisme and the reintroduction of icons like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichenstein. The artist’s works never end in themselve sbut are always used as an instrument to comunicate complaints and hints, hopes and torments, in a complex “game” of overlaps and contaminations.

Gian Piero Gasparini

Artwork title: Numbers 14 (Extra strong)
Artwork description:The artist presents the image of a butterfly as a symbol of soul’s transformation and rebirth. In particular, the subject of this work is a Monarch butterfly, a species wel lknown for its remarkable Flying resistance and hybridity, presentino two antithetical chromatism in the wings, one orange, referring to the feminine character, and the other blue, referring to the masculine one. Numbers that dot the subject everywhere, refere specially to the concept of individual and unique, or numerically present or absent, as in the case of all those exceptional events that occur in nature.

Biography: The artistworks are based on the fragmentation of the canvas and the decomposition of the image for the creation of pieces like recomposed mosaics and his dialectic has always ranged from portraiture to symbolism. In the last exhibitions “Old Master Reloaded” (London) and “In Tempore Belli” (Pescara) he focused his attention on Renaissance iconography and he relationship between art and time. He currentlylives and works in Milan.

Technique, Sign, Light, Color, Substance, Full and Empty, are the protagonists of the artistic identities of six talented young artists.
On show areworks by: GianpieroGasparini, Federico Unia, Federica Angelino, Donatella Izzo, Mauro Vettore and Patrick Corrado.
What makes every work “Art” is the planning, the idea, the work, the stylistic experimentation, the result of a great expressive freedom and an intimate and personal research.
During an age where everything is a cliché and where we are always more frequently asked to renounce our identity, I AM wants to be the story of everyone and everyone’s way of seeing the world, through a mix of contemporary languages, a disrespectful visual impact, given from the desire to CREATE beyond the stylistic taboos: narrating, denouncing, raising awareness and exciting. Subjectivity emerges precisely from the pleasure of being oneself, through aesthetic sophistication and expressive elegance.

Six artists, six identities:

Gianpiero Gasparini

Gasparini’s ripped canvas inserts, mark a path, a verb/visual line, lacerations, patches of life and body, the report traces of a story through the deliberate exhibition, on pictorial derma, of filaments of canvas ripped as pulsating veins.
Hence the meaning of the title of the Profundum Nigrum series, a Caravaggio tribute that spans, through amber figures which,lucid, stand out on the deep black. A Masters of the past tribute, once the lesson has been learned, like Klimt, Mucha and Dürer. Giving form and substance to a supercontemporary expressionism.

Donatella Izzo

In his latest project No-Portraits, her great aesthetic skill and photographic medium mastery are evident. The artist’s attention is within all phases of the work, from pre-production to production and post-production. The shot only becomes the last piece of an artistic sequence, that includes interventions such as painting, collage and abrasion.
The focus of the project is shifted to new reading codes, that crumble the classical concept of portrait intended as a “copy” in favor of an “anti-portrait”, that is an introspective analysis of the depicted subject, almost always female, a universe from which Izzo drawsand to which she gives particular attention. Women suspended in aninviolable instant, almost non-interpretable, but still alive because aesthetically reshaped.

Federico Unia

Continuous human contradiction emerges in his works. The consideration on evolution, on the beastly aspects of our existence, the criticality of systems, which are vital for us and for all the living species of our delicate planet, the precariousness of human relationships as opposed to the unambiguous and independent search for success, worthy of every mean…
On the other hand, animals, which are often much more capable than us of living our home, actively or passively respecting their destiny in the food chain, capable of coexisting together within the same areas,where different species draw life, simply by following the natural rhythm dictated by our planet, now very weak and not because of them, stand out positively in respect of natural, bio-vital and social systems.The man in metamorphosis with the animal encloses all these aspects and stands out on the works of Federico Unia, who often uses the urban theme of Poster, as a common language in many of his works, to carry his subjects as a background texture.

Federica Angelino

What Photography reproduces infinitely, took place only once. It repeats mechanically, what won’t be repeated existentially. The young artist investigates suburban cultures through the mechanism of a machine, shooting not necessarily what no longer is, but certainly what it was. Archive to print the moment. The goal of his work is becoming part of a community, take the best visions and give them back to the public.

Mauro Vettore

In his installations, the artist is able to playfully fly over the rubbles of a capitalism that reached the spasmodic end of its course. He does so with a wise choice of materials (from resins to plastic), by setting fake ingots, exploded lamps and very famous brands. While Warhol celebrated the birth of Coca-Cola, Vettore sings about his death. The purely aesthetic result is, in some cases, amazing.

Patrick Corrado

The artist raises / re-elaborates from scratch, everything that is Pop: decomposes / deconstructs photographic images, signs, chromatisms and writings that first showed off their “glamor”, fashion, cinematographic, comics, music, superficiality, reinventing everything and then translating it into a visual language that “de-re-structures” every single image.

2019 è il primo anno che Pride Art si tiene in Italia con una mostra che presenta un gruppo di talentuosi artisti italiani, esplorando temi LGBT +. La mostra d’arte è composta da quattro opere che ispirano la riflessione sul valore della diversità come elemento intrinseco della natura.

Per questa mostra abbiamo collaborato con Tallulah Studio Art, fondata da Patrizia Madau consulente di pop-art.

Donatella Izzo

Titolo: Bloom
Opera descrizione: L’opera è una riflessione sulla sessualità in natura. La società è stata abituata a pensare che tutti gli esseri viventi possano essere divisi in maschi o femmine. Questo è generalmente vero per i vertebrati, ma non è sempre vero per gli invertebrati o le piante. Il fiore rappresenta uno degli esempi più sorprendenti di come maschile e femminile possano coesistere nello stesso essere.

Biografia: in una realtà fortemente basata sulle apparenze e sulla perfezione, i pezzi dell’artista ci fanno partecipare a una percezione personale dell’identità che ora è frammentata e privata del senso di appartenenza al lato più trascendente della vita. I suoi soggetti ci accompagnano in una dimensione di estraniamento in cui l’idea stessa dell’imperfezione perde il suo significato negativo per assumere valori più alti saturi di significati spirituali.

Federica Angelino

Titolo opera: Midtown
Descrizione dell’opera:
L’artista presenta la sua ricerca intima e culturale attraverso lo scatto “Midtown”, un’immagine macro di occhi truccati. Il riflesso che dà a tutti nella loro sfera quotidiana è l’interazione con “l’altro e la diversità”. Le relazioni focali che vengono create con persone conosciute e sconosciute attraverso la macchina fotografica.

Biografia: Federica Angelino è un’artista multidisciplinare che lavora attraverso la fotografia, le installazioni e la pittura. L’artista indaga l’origine della diversità culturale, analizza l’intimità che esiste tra gli individui nella loro diversità e li ritrae creando fratture emotive di grande effetto scenico. Nelle sue ultime mostre Federica ha focalizzato la sua attenzione sul rapporto tra intimità e dinamiche di coppia, creando opere site specific per il luogo.

Federico Unia

Titolo opera: Catena alimentare (Serie bestiale)
Il pezzo dell’artista è caratterizzato da una trasfigurazione dell’essere umano in una bestia. L’opera è una riflessione sull’evoluzione dell’uomo confrontata e metamorfizzata con il mondo animale. Federico Unia esplora la diversità nel mondo animale e la sua straordinaria capacità di coesistere nella natura, semplicemente in armonia con l’equilibrio universale. Secondo l’artista: «La natura ci insegna a vivere insieme senza opprimerci».

Biografia: Federico Unia è un talento urbano-pop e la sua identità artistica è il risultato di una serie di lunghe esperienze derivanti dalla pop-art, reinterpretazione del concetto di Nouveau Réalisme e reintroduzione di icone come Andy Warhol e Roy Lichenstein. Le opere dell’artista non finiscono mai in se stesse ma vengono sempre utilizzate come strumento per comunicare lamentele e suggerimenti, speranze e tormenti, in un complesso “gioco” di sovrapposizioni e contaminazioni.

Gian Piero Gasparini

Titolo opera: Numbers 14 (Extra strong)
L’artista presenta l’immagine di una farfalla come simbolo della trasformazione e della rinascita dell’anima. In particolare, il soggetto di questo lavoro è una farfalla monarca, una specie ben nota per la sua straordinaria resistenza al volo e ibridità, che presenta due cromatismi antitetici nelle ali, uno arancione, che si riferisce al carattere femminile, e l’altro blu, che si riferisce al maschile. I numeri che punteggiano il soggetto ovunque, si riferiscono in particolare al concetto di individuo e unico, o numericamente presente o assente, come nel caso di tutti quegli eventi eccezionali che si verificano in natura.

Biografia: Le opere dell’artista si basano sulla frammentazione della tela e sulla scomposizione dell’immagine per la creazione di pezzi come mosaici ricomposti e la sua dialettica ha sempre spaziato dalla ritrattistica al simbolismo. Nelle ultime mostre “Old Master Reloaded” (Londra) e “In Tempore Belli” (Pescara) ha focalizzato la sua attenzione sull’iconografia rinascimentale e sul rapporto tra arte e tempo. Attualmente vive e lavora a Milano.

La tecnica, il segno, la luce, il colore, la materia, il pieno e il vuoto, sono i protagonisti delle identità artistiche di sei giovani talentuosi.
In mostra le opere di: Gianpiero Gasparini, Federico Unia, Federica Angelino, Donatella Izzo, Mauro Vettore e Patrick Corrado.
Ciò che rende “Arte” ogni opera in mostra è la progettualità, l’idea, il lavoro, la sperimentazione stilistica frutto di una grande libertà espressiva e di una ricerca intima e personale.
In un’epoca in cui tutto è cliché e ci viene chiesto sempre più spesso di rinunciare alla nostra identità, I AM vuole essere il racconto di sé e del proprio modo di vedere il mondo attraverso un mix di linguaggi contemporanei, un dissacrante impatto visivo dato dal desiderio di CREARE al di là dei tabù stilistici: di Narrare, Denunciare, Sensibilizzare ed Emozionare. La soggettività emerge proprio dal piacere di essere sé stessi, attraverso la raffinatezza estetica e l’eleganza espressiva.

Sei artisti, sei identità:

Gianpiero Gasparini

Gli inserti di tele strappate di Gasparini segnano un sentiero, una linea verbo/visuale, le lacerazioni, i rattoppi della vita e del corpo, le tracce resocontative di una storia attraverso la voluta esibizione, sul derma pittorico, dei filamenti di tela strappata come vene pulsanti.
Da qui il senso del titolo della serie Profundum Nigrum, tributo caravaggesco che spazia, attraverso figure ambrate che si stagliano lucide sul nero profondo, a Maestri del passato, una volta che se ne sia appresa la lezione, come Klimt, Mucha e Dürer. Dando forma e sostanza a un espressionismo supercontemporaneo.

Donatella Izzo

Nel suo ultimo progetto No-Portraits, si evince la sua grandiosa padronanza estetica e del mezzo fotografico. L’attenzione dell’artista è in tutte le fasi del lavoro, dalla pre-produzione alla produzione fino alla post-produzione. Lo scatto diventa solo l’ultimo tassello di una sequenza artistica che comprende interventi come pittura, collage e abrasione.
Il focus del progetto è spostato su nuovi codici di lettura che sgretolano il concetto classico del ritratto inteso come “copia” a favore di un “anti-ritratto”, cioè di un’analisi introspettiva del soggetto raffigurato, quasi sempre femminile, universo da cui la Izzo attinge e al quale porge particolare attenzione. Donne sospese in un istante sacro, quasi non interpretabile, ma pur sempre vivo perchè esteticamente rimodellato.

Federico Unia

Si evidenzia in questa serie la continua contraddizione umana , la riflessione sull’evoluzione , gli aspetti bestiali della nostra esistenza , la criticità dei sistemi vitali per noi e per tutte le specie viventi sul nostro delicato pianeta , la precarietà dei rapporti umani contrapposta alla ricerca univoca e indipendente della scalata al successo , degna di ogni mezzo …
A contraddistinguersi positivamente nel rispetto dei sistemi naturali , bio-vitali e sociali invece sono sicuramente gli animali , che spesso risultano molto più capaci di noi di vivere la nostra casa , rispettando attivamente o passivamente il loro destino nella catena alimentare , capaci di coesistere insieme negli stessi territori, dove differenti specie traggono vita, seguendo semplicemente il ritmo naturale dettato dal nostro pianeta, ormai molto acciaccato e non per causa loro . L’uomo in metamorfosi con l’animale racchiude un po’ tutti questi aspetti esi staglia sulle opere di Federico Unia , che usa spesso come linguaggio comune in molti suoi lavori per accompagnare come una texture di fondo i suoi soggetti , il tema urbano del Poster.

Federica Angelino

Ciò che la Fotografia riproduce all’infinito, ha avuto luogo una sola volta. Essa ripetere meccanicamente ciò che non potrà mai ripetersi esistenzialmente. La giovane artista indaga sulle culture suburbane attraverso il meccanismo di una macchina, scattando non per forza documento ciò che non è più, ma sicuramente ciò che è stato. Archivio per imprimere il momento. L’obiettivo del suo lavoro è entrare a far parte di una comunità, prendere le visioni migliori e restituirle al pubblico.

Mauro Vettore

Nelle sue installazioni, l’artista è capace di sorvolare giocosamente sui detriti di un capitalismo giunto alla spasmodica fine del suo corso. Lo fa con una scelta sapiente di materiali (dalle resine alla plastica) incastonando finti lingotti, lampade esplose e marchi celeberrimi. Mentre Warhol celebrava la nascita della Coca-Cola, Vettore ne canta la morte. Il risultato puramente estetico è in alcuni casi strabiliante.

Patrick Corrado

L’artista rilancia/rielabora da zero tutto ciò che è Pop:
scompone/destruttura immagini fotografiche, segni, cromatismi e scritte che prima ostentavano la loro superficialità “glamour”, modaiola, cinematografica, fumettistica, musicale, reinventando il tutto per poi tradurlo in un linguaggio visivo che “de-rIstruttura”ogni singola immagine fino a renderla inedita, subliminale.
