Galleria Monica De Cardenas
In 1992 Monica De Cardenas opened her gallery in Milano’s Corso Como area. The gallery quickly earned acclaim for representing and showing the work of both established and emerging artists from around the world. In 1993 Monica De Cardenas showed Thomas Struth for the first time. One year later she introduced in her agenda Markus Raetz, following with Stephan Balkenhol in 1996 and Alex Katz in 1998.
New recognized artists started to be represented through the years: among others, Chantal Joffe, Franz Gertsch, Barbara Probst, Francesca Gabbiani and Claudia Losi. Recently also several young Italian artists joined the gallery like Rä di Martino, Federico Tosi, Lupo Borgonovo and Linda Fregni Nagler.
In December 2006 Monica De Cardenas opened a new gallery in the village of Zuoz near St. Moritz, Switzerland. This new exhibition space is located in a 15th century building renovated by the architect Hans-Jörg Ruch. This space provides a second beautiful location in a stunning Swiss backdrop.
