Galerie Buchmann

The Buchmann Galerie was founded in St. Gallen in 1975. In 1983 the gallery moved to Basel, next door to the Museum für Gegenwartskunst. In these new spaces dedicated to the major names of international art the gallery organized exhibitions of: Giovanni Anselmo, Georg Baselitz, Daniel Buren, Lawrence Carroll, Tony Cragg, Wolfgang Laib, Bertrand Lavier, Richard Long, Mario Merz, Tatsuo Miyajima and Giuseppe Penone. Since 1995 the Buchmann Galerie has also had a presence in Germany, until 2005 in Cologne and later in Berlin. From 1998 to autumn 2020 the gallery moved from Basel to Agra, where rooms were custom built in order to present sculptures, above all, in a setting of great charm. In 2013 opens a new space, Buchmann Lugano, located right in the heart of Lugano, at Via della Posta, just close to MASI - Palazzo Reali.
