Galleria Lia Rumma

Lia Rumma Gallery was founded in Naples in 1971 with the solo show The Eighth Investigation by Joseph Kosuth. Since the beginning, the gallery has played a fundamental role in discovering new artistic trends emerging from the international art scene such as Arte Povera, Minimal Art and Conceptual Art and exhibiting emerging and prominent artists such as Haim Steinbach, Gino De Dominicis, Reinhard Mucha, Alberto Burri, Thomas Ruff, Anselm Kiefer, William Kentridge and Marina Abramovic. Over the years, besides the exhibiting program in the gallery spaces in Naples and Milan, Lia Rumma Gallery has encouraged a vivid collaboration with curators, critics and collectors that has led to international prestigious events such as Anselm Kiefer's permanent installation The Seven Heavenly Palaces inaugurated in 2004 at Hangar Bicocca in Milan. In 2010 a solo show by Ettore Spalletti has celebrated the opening of a new gallery space in Milan conceived for Art and Artists.

Cactus, 2020, mixed tecnique on carboard, cm 100 x 90
Mirko Baricchi
Humus, 2020, Acrylic, pastels, pencil and collage on canvas, cm 70 x 50. Description: The paper, made transparent, opens up to several pictorial levels: by using separately graphite and tempera the artist gives a strong feeling of three-dimensionality. A surreal, suspended landscape appears, where we feel strangely comfortable. The use of almost primary colors and simple signs in graphite allows us to recognise primitive forms, archetypal forms, that immediately match.
